Saalumarada Thimmakka is an environmentalist and social worker from Karnataka, celebrated worldwide for her selfless dedication to nature. Often called the “Mother of Trees,” she gained recognition for planting and nurturing over 8,000 trees, including hundreds of banyan trees along a 4-kilometer stretch near her village. Despite humble beginnings, her unwavering love for the environment has made her a global symbol of green activism and sustainability. Honored with the Padma Shri, Saalumarada Thimmakka continues to inspire generations to protect and preserve nature through compassion, patience, and perseverance.
